# Deposits & Withdrawals

> How to move money in and out of your Belief Systems cash balance.

<Info>
  These pages document functionality available to approved participants in our **private,
  invitation-only alpha program**. The program is not open to the public, and nothing in this
  documentation is an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security.
</Info>

Everything you do on Belief Systems flows through a single **cash balance** – a
per-investor account, much like the settlement cash in a brokerage account. You
add money to it, deploy that money to mint shares in any series, and your
redemption proceeds flow back into it. When you want your money out, you
withdraw from the same balance.

<Note>
  The cash balance is platform-wide, not tied to any one series. Fund it once and you can invest
  across every series; everything you redeem returns to the same place.
</Note>

## Two ways in, two ways out

There are two rails for moving money, and they work the same whether you're
funding your account or cashing out. Pick whichever fits how you already hold
money – you can use both, and you can mix them (deposit by wire, withdraw to a
wallet, or vice versa).

| Rail                | Best if you…                | Money in          | Money out           | Network / fees                            |
| ------------------- | --------------------------- | ----------------- | ------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| **USDC** (on-chain) | already hold or want crypto | \~30–60 minutes | usually a few hours | You pay deposit gas; we cover withdrawals |
| **USD bank wire**   | prefer traditional banking  | 1–3 business days | 1–3 business days   | your bank's wire fee                      |

You choose the rail right in the deposit or withdraw panel. The rest of this
page walks through each one.

## Depositing

### USDC from a crypto wallet

Deposit **USDC from an Ethereum mainnet wallet**. You enter an amount, sign two
transactions, and the funds land in your cash balance – typically in **30–60
minutes**.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enter an amount">
    Open the deposit panel and enter the dollar amount. The receipt card shows exactly what to
    expect: the amount, your sending wallet, the estimated time, the number of wallet approvals (2),
    and that Ethereum gas, paid by you, is the only network fee.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Approve USDC">
    Your wallet asks you to approve USDC for the deposit. This is a one-time approval per wallet –
    future deposits skip this step.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Submit the deposit">
    Sign the second transaction. Once it confirms on Ethereum, the funds are en route to your Belief
    Systems account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Funds appear in your cash balance">
    Typical settlement is 30–60 minutes, end to end. The deposit appears in your Recent Activity
    with on-chain receipts you can verify on Etherscan.
  </Step>
</Steps>

| The receipt card shows | Value |
| ---------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Amount | The dollar amount you entered |
| From | Your connected Ethereum wallet |
| Estimated time         | 30–60 minutes                           |
| Wallet approvals       | 2 (one-time approval, then the deposit) |
| Network fees | Ethereum gas, paid by you |

<Accordion title="What's happening during the 30–60 minute wait?">
  Your USDC moves from Ethereum mainnet to our settlement network on Polygon through the Polygon PoS
  bridge – public infrastructure built and operated by Polygon Labs, used by hundreds of
  institutions and audited extensively. Once the bridge finalizes (typically 30–60 minutes), the
  USDC is automatically converted into pUSD (the dollar-pegged stablecoin used inside our custody)
  and credited to your cash balance. You don't need to take any action during the wait – the deposit
  panel updates when the funds arrive.
</Accordion>

### USD by bank wire

If you'd rather not move funds on-chain, fund your account with a **US dollar
bank wire**. In the deposit panel, choose **USD via bank wire** to see our
receiving details and your personal reference code.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Acknowledge and view the details">
    Accept the short wire terms once, then you'll see the beneficiary, bank, routing number, account
    number, and your **reference code**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the wire from your bank">
    Wire from a bank account **in your own name**, and put your **reference code** in the wire memo
    – it's how we match your transfer to your account. The beneficiary is **True Craft Ventures
    LLC**, the legal entity that operates Belief Systems.
  </Step>

  <Step title="We credit your cash balance">
    Domestic wires usually take 1–3 business days to reach us. Once your wire lands, we credit your
    cash balance – typically within one business day.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  A bank wire is an investment subscription, not a bank deposit. The funds are received by True
  Craft Ventures LLC into a dedicated account used solely for investor subscriptions and
  redemptions, separate from operating funds; it is a company account (not a third-party custodial
  account) and is not FDIC-insured. Wires are final and cannot be reversed. Send only from an
  account in your own name, and always include your reference code so we can identify your transfer.
</Note>

## Withdrawing

You can withdraw any **available** part of your cash balance through either
rail. Once you submit, there's nothing more to manage – withdrawals are
processed for you. See [What's available to withdraw](#whats-available-to-withdraw)
below for what counts as available.

### USDC to a crypto wallet

You receive **native USDC on Ethereum mainnet**, sent directly to your connected
wallet. Belief Systems covers the Ethereum gas for the payout, so you receive the
full amount you requested.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Request the withdrawal">
    Enter the dollar amount to withdraw from your cash balance. It returns to your connected wallet
    as native USDC on Ethereum mainnet.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sit tight – it's processed automatically">
    **No further action is needed.** Your withdrawal is processed behind the scenes and usually
    completes within a few hours. See [Asset Security](/trust/asset-security) for the safeguards
    each withdrawal passes through.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Funds arrive">
    Your USDC lands in your wallet on Ethereum mainnet, and you'll see a transaction confirmation in
    your Recent Activity once it's delivered on-chain.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### USD by bank wire

You can also cash out as a **US dollar bank wire** to your own bank account.
Choose **USD to my bank** when you withdraw, accept the short terms, and enter
your receiving account details (holder name, routing number, account number).

<Steps>
  <Step title="Request the wire">
    Enter the amount and your receiving bank details. Your available balance is locked when you
    submit, so it can't be spent twice.
  </Step>

  <Step title="We send the wire">
    We send a US dollar wire to the account you provided, typically within 1–3 business days. You
    can track the request in your Withdrawals.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  Payouts are sent only to a bank account **in your own name**. Bank wires are final and cannot be
  reversed, so double-check the routing and account numbers you enter – you are responsible for
  their accuracy. We send the amount requested; for international banks, intermediary fees may
  reduce what arrives.
</Warning>

### What's available to withdraw

You can withdraw the **unlocked** portion of your cash balance through either
rail. Some funds aren't available because they're committed elsewhere:

| Not available to withdraw | Why |
| -------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Funds in a pending mint order | Reserved until the order is filled or cancelled – cancel it to unlock them |
| Shares you hold | Redeem at a NAV window first; the resulting proceeds become withdrawable |
| More than your available balance | The system caps each request at your unlocked balance |

<Warning>
  Withdrawals run through a managed custody framework – human approval plus automated solvency
  checks – rather than the permissionless withdrawal of a decentralized protocol. That adds security
  but means withdrawals are not instant, and may be delayed, restricted, or suspended for
  operational, security, or risk-management reasons. Belief Systems maintains operational control
  over custody during the alpha program. See [Asset Security](/trust/asset-security) for details.
</Warning>

## Good to know

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="This is not a bank account">
    Your cash balance is held in custody controlled by Belief Systems. It is not a bank deposit –
    there is no FDIC insurance, SIPC protection, or equivalent guarantee. The safety of your funds
    depends on the operational integrity of the custody infrastructure.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Timing is not guaranteed">
    USDC withdrawals usually complete within a few hours and wires within 1–3 business days, but these
    are typical times, not commitments. Because withdrawals pass through human approval and automated
    safeguards, they can take longer in periods of market stress. No action is needed from you while a
    withdrawal processes.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Funds in pending orders are locked">
    If you have an outstanding mint order, those funds stay locked until the order is filled, partially
    filled, or cancelled. Cancel a pending order to unlock the funds before the next NAV window
    processes.
